Tideswell in the heart of the Peak District, the School of Food boasts a modern yet homely teaching kitchen that can accommodate up to 12 students.
All of our courses include expert demonstration from professional chefs or cooks, and our kitchen is equipped with top quality domestic appliances and safe, easy to use equipment. A separate preparation kitchen allows our team to prepare ingredients ready for you to cook and learn with, so you can make the most of your time with us.

Nano Brewery
Fancy a pint? Fancy brewing it? The Tideswell School of Food includes a small brewery, which we call the "Nano-Brewery" because it's smaller than a Microbrewery but bigger than a home brew kit. The Nano-Brewery is a custom made demonstration brewery in a small room that brews up to a Firkin at a time (that's 9 gallons) so you can take part in the process of turning grain, hops, water and yeast into something altogether more palatable!

Taste Tideswell
Tideswell School of Food lies at the heart of the Taste Tideswell project- a BIG Lottery funded initiative and part of the Village SOS scheme.
Part of Village Life
Tideswell is a large village in the heart of the Peak District National Park, the largest National Park in the UK. With a strong sense of community, it is a village which is very welcoming to visitors – be they visiting Tideswell for just a day or staying for a longer holiday.
The School of Food is very much part of the Tideswell community. It's a local resource for local people as well as a professionally run cookery school. The facilities and experts at the school help to teach people of all ages and groups how to grow, cook, make, brew, and sell local food and drink. Come to the school and you're likely to find local producers making products in our separate Commercial Kitchen, as well as visitors and locals learning about healthy eating, catering, retailing, and of course all aspects of cooking.
By choosing a course at Tideswell School of Food you will be supporting our wider aims and objectives and as a not-for profit organisation we plough back all surpluses into our educational programmes. We buy everything as locally as we can, employ local people, and support local enterprises as much as possible.
