Details: Cumbria's only fully operational watermill, producing high quality flour using British grain.

Little Salkeld Watermill is an 18th Century Cornmill, producing a range of organic flours.

They say "All our flours are milled the traditional way - water from the high Pennines turning two overshot waterwheels that drive century-old French Burr millstones. We only mill bio-dynamic and organic standard British grain, unlike many mills which add to food miles by importing grain from North America and Australia. Stonegrinding is slow, cool and retains the flavour and goodness of the wheat germ in the flour. The combination of traditional machinery and highest quality grains result in flours of exceptional quality and flavour, making delicious bread, biscuits, cakes, scones and pastries. "

One of Rick Stein's SUPER Food Heroes!

Also offers bread-making and cookery courses.
