Details: Penny and Neil Chambers run The Handmade Scotch Egg Company, based in Herefordshire. Their scotch eggs are handmade using locally sourced, free range eggs and pork.

Scotch eggs from these guys are really something to behold: they wrap a large free range hen’s egg with your choice of delicious covering and are then fry it to perfection in peanut oil.

Their wide range of scotch egg recipes include classics such as the Mac - simple, free range pork with a light blend of spices and seasoning - and some more unusual takes on the classic British snack, like Casablanca - hot, spicy deep tasting Morrocan Harrissa, pork, paprika, chilli and red pepper. Vegetarian scotch eggs are also available, as are gluten free scotch eggs.

As well as 3 inch scotch eggs, they also provide smaller eggs for the more delicate souls, (called Wee Ones), and a range of canapes which take on the scotch egg theme, with a variety of centres to choose from.

The shop is based in Herefordshire, but you can also catch them at Farmers' Markets and lots of retail outlets, details of which are on the website.
