Details: Holly Tree Farm shop offer their own free-range geese, turkeys and chickens, as well as local rare breed beef, lamb and pork. Visit their interesting farm shop to see the full range of products - they also offer vegetables, ready meals, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and much more. They say of their poultry and meat: "...we can give you meat and goodies with real taste, traceability, freshness & quality... guarantees on animal welfare and consumer safety (our meat is free from all routine drugs, growth promoters, and other additives which are of increasing concern to many people) and for those of you to whom local produce is important we can give those implicit guarantees too.

All our meat comes from our own farm at Holly Tree, Tabley in the glorious Cheshire countryside or from other very local producers in Cheshire, North Shropshire and South Lancashire, all of whom rear their animals in a similar way to us. The animals are generally born, reared and finished on the same farm, so the animals are happy and settled and cared for in the best possible way before going for slaughter. They then travel the shortest possible distance direct to our local family-run abattoir to avoid stress, and from there the carcasses are delivered to us by refrigerated wagon. Indeed our own geese & turkeys etc never travel off the farm at all until ready for your oven!"

Regarding maturation of meat, they say "beef is normally hung for at least 3 weeks, lamb for 10 days and geese for 10 days."
