About us
Generations of our family have lived and worked in the East Neuk of Fife – predominantly in the fishing industry and can be traced back as far as the late 1600s from father to son. My father and grandfather have been awarded MBEs for their services to the fishing industry, but being colour blind meant I could never skipper my own trawler, so in 1981 Alison and I set up our own fish processing business – Argofish, in nearby St Monans producing fresh, hand-filleted haddock to fish and chip shops and retail outlets in East and Central Scotland.

In September 2003, our dream of expanding into the hospitality sector by supplying our own prime Scottish seafood through Argofish, became reality, as we became the new owners of The Anstruther Fish Bar – our own local chippie!

We have won many awards including Fish an Chip shop of the year 2008/09, but without the customers we would be nothing and it is our aim to provide everyone one with the same excellent standard of service and the freshest local seafood.
