History
Chris & Diane Jones began farming in 2007 with their two children Zak and Megan. We wanted good quality food for our family, because our children had reacted adversely to processed food, we then decided to produce our own, so Bryn Derw Farm was created.
Free Range Chicken
We use the Cotswold White strain which is a traditional slow growing free ranging bird. We buy in day old chicks from a reputable supplier in the UK; they are then under heat for approximately 3 weeks, weather depending, and eventually moved into mobile houses onto the fields for approximately 7 weeks, where they have daily access to fresh food, water and pasture. Our birds are from the farm ranger strain that have natural yellow skin and shanks; they tend to roam far from the coups, which enhance their tradition flavour and taste.
Other Produce
We also rear traditional rare breed free range, rare breed pork (Gloucester Old Spot, Berkshire Pork, Oxford Sandy and Black) and traditional free range Herdwick lamb, as well as Dexter Beef. Why not visit our website to find out more and to purchase our delicius produce?
