History
The Blue Lion was originally built towards the end of the 18th century as a coaching inn, attracting trade from travellers and cattle drovers on their journey through Wensleydale. Today our valued visitors come from all over Britain and beyond, but they still receive the warmest of welcomes. It  is now widely regarded as one of the north of England’s leading country inns. Thanks to our dedicated and talented staff, who set and maintain the highest standards, we have received a host of regional and national culinary awards.
