The retaurant
A cleverly converted seventeenth-century farmhouse with its light, rustic-chic style, Bistro 21 has a refreshing simplicity, half-close your eyes and you could be in a French country restaurant.
Seasonally-driven menus - locally-sourced, wherever possible - offer flavoursome, bistro classics with a contemporary twist. Puddings veer happily towards comfort. Fixed price lunches and dinners, daily specials, vegetarian dishes plus a programme of special events and offers add to the choice.
There’s a snug-like bar, a pretty courtyard and three private dining rooms. The style is unpretentious - pitch pine floors, rush-seat chairs, crisp white cloths - the service informal and friendly. With no table seating more than eight, the atmosphere is warm, intimate and just the right side of lively.
