Welcome to Good Food Pages. This guide to local food aims to bring the very best in food and drink businesses across the UK directly to you.

The idea for GFP started a couple of years ago (circa 2004), when I increasingly found myself turning to the Internet when looking to buy food from businesses which could guarantee its origins and quality. I knew I was part of a fast-growing group, and saw an opportunity to create an online community, bringing together the people looking for real food experiences with those businesses who provide them. I came up with the idea for a good food directory - but I didn't want just any old good food directory though...

What's it all about then?
I wanted my food directory to have integrity, and to be about more than just food that tasted good. My partner and I care about where our food has come from so our directory lists food businesses that are extra special; they ALL offer locally sourced that has been ethically produced. At this point I would like to add that we are realists too - we know first hand that it is hard to be a 100% saintly consumer, and we do sometimes venture into the supermarket (where else am I going to buy my Heinz Beans from?). We are never snooty about our beliefs regarding food, as we cannot claim to be total purists ourselves. We believe that every inch closer we all move towards shopping from local producers is a good thing, and we are here to help promote all the great producers that we know are out there.

Who says GFP will be any good?
My background in web marketing, combined with a genuine love of good food and drink means that I am perfectly placed to market the best local producers and retailers in the UK. Basic Listings are FREE, but we also offer more elaborate, Enhanced Listings, as well as site-wide advertising options are very reasonably priced and totally quantifiable (see on screen at any time how may people have viewed your listing).
